So, I was let go a few months ago because my last company was cheap. Don't get me started. So. Six months later I get a new job. I was told it was hybrid. The first day I go into the office. The whole way there I'm like this is fucking stupid. Why am I going in etc. Waste of life. We all get it. But I'm thinking oh well maybe it's just at first, fine. But after talking to peers (I'm in IT, systems engineer) the hybrid isn't actually true. It's 100% in the office. Due to the CIO who has a sad miserable life and micromanages everything.
I don't know what to do other than pray I get a new job soon because this shit isn't sustainable. Going into an office is a complete waste of my time, life and resources and it makes me fucking miserable. This antiquated mentality of cOrPoRaTe CuLtUrE and having to be in the office is stupid. If anyone missed that over the last almost three years, they shouldn't be in any leadership role.
Anyway. I hope everyone's day was better than mine. Also had to spend ten hours at various vets with my cat with a urinary blockage. Life threatening. Awesome day.
