I laughing here, I joined this company 7 months ago , they sold me big dreams and was promises many things that fit my career goal.
Once I'm there, I find all sort of problems they refuse to fix.
1- No product owner and no Jira ticket : the client send you 15 pages document with what he wants , no criteria ,no template nothing.
2 – very poor CI/CD policy they hired someone from another country who doesn't speak our first or second language , just because he's cheap, the guy is a devops guy and has no knowledge of programming or our stack, includes him in daily meeting where we speak a different language than him, and ask him to deploy when someone has something which is once every 3 days and treat him poorly.
Another issue is our code is erased , we have different environment so when you code in a place u need to deploy in all other orgs.
3 – he berates you if you are 1 minute late on the daily meeting . And expect you to be in front of laptop 9 hours a day.
4 when you tell him listen this is not how things should be done , we have all sort of technical debts , he get offended and start being passive aggressive with you.
In the past 7 months we lost the only QA we had , 4 devs and me …the only person who had knowledge in this stack.
Before my arrive they lost 90% of the team who knew the project and the technology.
Refused my suggestion that I start doing code review and check code with the team as all of them just started and have little to no knowledge in this stack and programming in general.
I'm being paid extra 15% than one junior , while I have 6 years experience. And tons of certifications while they have none.
Recently they put in in this training where they want to hire new people and I become their mentor … One day a week without extra pay and not allowed to refuse… This doesn't figure in my job description.
He can be mia the whole day and once he connect he expects you to be ready for a meeting in the next 10 min …( I was in WC and when I returned I found tons of sms / whatapp calls/sms from him and the whole tea. Because he asked them to ping me and started berating me and telling me if Im not working today , I told him sometimes we need to do our business in WC and he wasn't pleased.
One time I was on a call with a collegue and was sharing screen he send me a text on whatapp and I didn't reply so he called me there … So I have to answer him ).
Anyway today I put my one month notice ( that what in my contract) and he immediately shut my access in production where I have many active tickets with support, and expected me to find a way to reply to those tickets and shut my access to git … Guess who won't commit the whole functionality even if u regive me access )
They can't hire people in my industry because they are cheapskate and have a very bad reputation of very bad management
Anyway I'm happy now that I got rid of this toxicity and looking forward to start working with a company who respect their clients
