I closed my own business a year ago because I was tired of it and was talked into setting up and running a recon center for a dealership and security company. (140+cars) (Owned by same guy)
After 9 months I still had no staff at all (because theres not a endless pot of money) and was responsible for management, service writing, and doing all mechanical repairs plus holding dealerships hand.
I had no safety equipment, nothing in osha or epa compliance, not even fire code.(your bleeding me dry he'd say)
Today after a nasty email from the sales manager telling me to do my fucking job right, I said fuck this.
I lack proper equipment, staff, etc etc etc.
I made $25hr… average rate for a mechanic currently Is 25hr starting to 50hr with exp.
I left them so upside down it's hilarious. Multiple cars they have no idea what needs done or where they even are. (If they had read their emails/service tickets they would know) but they don't.i also deleted all my notes and tracking data.
I don't care anymore… when I told the owner (I'm burning down I need a vacation) and he says that won't work… just take a weekend off (I have weekends off). He can go kick rocks.
Fuck these assholes! What happened to giving a shit about your employees?
