Thank you for the opportunity to work in this position for the past 3 months. I’ve greatly enjoyed and appreciated the opportunities I’ve had. I’ve learned new skills, all of which I will take with me throughout my career.

I would like to take this time to explain my early departure. When I got hired for the job I was told that it would take roughly a month for the background check to come through and that I would work in different departments in the meantime. In truth, you did not know what was going on with this job. You didn't know the steps that needed to be taken or how long things were going to take. In all honesty, it is my opinion that you should have had one of your managers go through the entire process so new hires wouldn't have to figure everything out for themselves and would have somebody to rely on for information and expectations. There is a clear lack of planning and preparation.

Given that the store is understaffed I feel that you and the managers pushed new employees to be independent sooner than what should be advised. Your high turnover rate isn't because you're hiring bad employees, it's because you are not giving them enough training and put a lot of pressure on them very quickly.

When I started I asked about my breaks. I was told you get a 30-minute lunch and 15-minute break if you were working an eight-hour day. But I had multiple managers tell me that normally people don't take their 15 minutes. As well as one manager who said several times that he does not take his lunches and we should be grateful that Staples gives 15 minutes at all.

Due to the lack of proper communication and unattainable expectations, I will be moving on, effective immediately. I wish you and the company all the best.
