I quit my job, and the replacement wasn’t any better

After two straight shifts of night shift food service that dropped my mental health to extreme lows, I quit. I just decided I'm not working another shift. Well fortunately I'd been sending out applications before those events so I had an interview in a factory nearby. I arrived frankly super early (needed to figure out how long it took to drive plus give myself time to turn around if I missed a turn somewhere) and waited. I had waited over 15 minutes before my scheduled interview time before I was finally called up. There were like ten people there. Red flag. Well I got there with a specific goal in mind: no more food service, no more customer service, better work/life balance.

They immediately told me it was going to be 12 hour shifts, 5 days a week. I asked if I could work less than five days. They said no. Red flag. They also said I would be expected to work both days of the weekend some weeks. Red flag!! Also, 12 hours is the minimum. I'll most likely be asked to stay later. Now there are enough red flags to fill a landmine-ridden field!

And they're not unionized. What a surprise. Needless to say I am not taking that job. I wish I didn't have to take ANY job but until that utopian day comes, I'm sending out more applications to more places
