Worked as a cashier at a counter service style restaurant for over a year. Got an interview for server at a “real” restaurant and ended up getting the job. Went thru a week of training smoothly, hardly any criticisms from trainers other than simply needing some more practice. After the week of training I was pulled aside by a manager who said he needed to talk to me. He then went on to scroll on his phone for around 30-45 seconds. After sitting in silence while he was on his phone, he told me the trainers didn’t think I was ready for the job. They knew I had only worked as counter service, and throughout training was never told anything drastic I needed to improve on. The manager didn’t give me any feedback on what I did wrong. I quit my job for this new one and was basically dropped with no explanation. I’ve been looking for a job for a while now, but it’s hard.
