So last year I was starting to get very burned out due to over work , stress of where I was working and the effects of long covid. Mid work day on a Wednesday in August last year I decided to quit working. No savings, no back up plan. Nothing. I simply said this isn’t the life I want and walked out.
How do u feel now? Lots better mentally, lots worse financially and I know it was the right decision. If I get desperate for money I might work maybe one day a week. I was sick of seeing my life slip by and having to give up my time to stay afloat, honestly, I was more worried about money when I was earning. Now I have none and I’m happier.
Last week I took myself on a bike ride to the local lake, it was sunny and a beautiful day and I laid in the grass and read a book. The most striking thing I noticed was I was literally the only person I saw for 5 hours under 65-70. Everyone else was at work; a beautiful, sunny day and people are stuck inside, working for another 45 years so that they MIGHT Live long enough to scratch a few days together after they retire. If they don’t die first. I hate this treadmill of work and death we are attached too, I don’t want to work until I’m too old to enjoy life just to have nice things around me, or even just to keep myself fed and housed.
