I run the kitchen at a public school, a government job, and was working during the entire pandemic when the teachers and other, higher staff were sitting at home doing distance learning, safe from COVID. All the money I make in a month won’t cover a single monthly rent payment. MIC

This was during the height of the pandemic when all of the fast food places were shut down. But we did it. And yet I still make less than $1,500 a month, and the lowest rent I see in my city is $1,700 a month
