It’s crazy that a lot of the older generations keep saying we (millenials) are lazy, or people in general don’t want to work. It made me(24f) come to a realization. I don’t think it’s that we don’t want to work. Because I admit, as far as work, this job I’m at now I’m always 5-30 mins late. I’m honestly just not a morning person. At the same time though, I’m the one who shows up late to work and yet STILL finishes my work hours before we are off and helps out with THEIR work.
I constantly hear all my coworkers (35s-40s) in the same/ if not similar position as me complain about how they have sooo much work to do and how people that are always late/not show up get rewarded. In my head I’m thinking well if maybe they didn’t take a thousand personal/smoke breaks they wouldn’t always be behind. Not just that, I notice they sit on their phones many times for prolonged period of times. But the moment I look at my phone they start snitching
So is it really that we’re “lazy or don’t want to work” or do they refuse to use any newer technologies/resources available to them because of their seniorities and think they can get away with shit? Like handing me their work to help cause they “can’t catch up” I mean we make the same. On top of me not being a morning person, sometimes I truly don’t give a shit about being late. Atleast at this job. But it’s an office full of older people who do whatever they want so whatever.
