Hello all,
I posted in a different group asking opinions about how I handled a situation. Basically, I was going to do a presentation at work (not a normal part of my job at all). I waited a little (there was no date set for the presentation) and asked how I would be compensated. I was expected to do it for free or do it during normal work hours. I don't earn very much as it is and all that research and time putting the presentation together plus presenting it would be a lot of money I would be out of. I could be using that time to be doordashing or earning money instead. So I backed out. People are saying I'm an asshole and I should get fired for doing this lmao. I keep asking “why should I work for free?”
I regret even posting there. Everyone seems too up their employers asses to see what my point is.
