My dad is in a wheelchair fulltime. Can't cook for himself. I help him to the toilet and shower. Take out trash, clean anything he needs.i drive all over to get his prescriptions,food.. He cannot live on his own. I contacted social security to see if there was a program(NC) in place to help me out while I'm forced to take care of him.I shouldn't be exactly focused on taking care of him. . He falls down 4 days of the week and is too big for me to get into bed myself. So I have to call ems.. I'm not just going to let him rot in his home while I'm still alive. Why aren't there programs to at least help a small bit with children who take care of their parents who are too sick to take care of themselves? I've never been so broke in my life. He's so out of his mind he can't help. This.this might not be the right sub for this, but why aren't there programs to help people who can't work because of situations like these.
