I think (hope) I’m about to call my CEO out in front of a company event tomorrow. Help me proof an email to my (good, supportive) manager in regard to this

Super shot notice. I think I finally hit the point I will carry through with this. I'm a coward at heart so who knows if I will. [Manager name]

I really am sorry about this, but I joined [CEO's] live chat and confronted him about the IT layoffs. Truely, I don't believe you had any notice or advanced knowledge about this, and I hold no ill will against you about this. I seriously hope this doesn't blow back on you, and I accept any consequence and discipline I receive for my actions, including termination of my employment. This may be over dramatic, I won't deny, but I felt the need to do this as a representation of who I am and want to be.

I won't pretend I was on perfect relations with all the folks who got laid off, but I won't budge on my position that none of them deserved the treatment they got. I think [Site Director] position from yesterday's meeting ultimately solidified my desire to move forward on this.

My interpretation of [gendered] response was that [gendered] knew layoffs were either guaranteed or very likely for some time and warned no one. Additionally, I got the impression that executive leadership views us as spiteful and vindictive people who would have used out positions to sabotage the company in regard to these layoffs, when fair notice and termination terms would have easily prevented such actions.

Having been in the [Site and dept location] when it was terminated, in a dept of folks who all could have gone customer account to customer account terminating services, actions that, if taken in the scope they seem to think we would have acted in, would have taken months to correct, didn't happen, I feel is unjustified to act like folks here would have taken such actions, when provided with a fair notice and severance like we received in the [DEPT]. We were given 90 days' notice of the layoffs, and a 6 week's severance form the day we were either laid off or left for employment with another company.

What I do know is here and now, I have the opportunity to call out our executive leadership for their actions in front of people they intend to impress. I believe they intend to try and let slip under the radar, when no one in IT deserved this treatment. I think most upsetting to me is [My supervisor], who was always supportive of our team's individual career advancement and our executive leadership, and despite this tossed aside so carelessly. Even if they were given a generous severance package, they still should have had more than a day's notice to plan for this outcome.

Furthermore, I truly doubt our team will be here long term. The only thing I heard when [Site Director] confirmed rumors of overseas backfilling was that out entire team is replaceable. Nothing we do can't be done by some persons anywhere else in the world, so this job is probably on a time limit anyway. [Site Director] made it very clear even if [gendered] did know we would be cut [gendered] won't go to bat for us or give us any warning it was going to happen. All of this considered is what pushed me to put this out in front of the company.

I send this to you in hope that in the event of blow back, it will offer fair defense for you. Again, please know I hold no grievances against you for the events that transpired. You were, and are, an effective leader worthwhile of investment by any organization you are involved with. You worked hard to communicate upcoming changes and plans and help us along in day-to-day operations. Any company would be fortunate to have you in their roster.

Best of wishes,

[Me]
