I think recruiting should become more like Match.com for job seekers and Hiring Managers. That seems more human.

Profiles could include photos, description of interests and skills, conversations and videos. That would be more efficient than just a resume. Work samples, questionnaires or quizzes could help too. That way, the job search process would be more dynamic and relational.
