I thought job search would be easy

Ive been looking for a job for over a month and havent gotten anything despite having 6+ years experience working in a bakery and applying to bakeries. Supermarkets I applied to haven't even called me for interviews and all the smaller bakeries don't hire me. One bakery actually did hire me, but then pulled the plug when I expressed sadness with the low pay but said I will work anyway. (They were paying minimum wage 13 an hr when I wanted at least 16 since that's what I was working at my last job) I thought they'd understand since the interviewer said she'd try to get me more pay, but didnt even get me an extra dollar and dropped me like nothing. Im also mad that she said ' you have to understand we are a small business and cant afford much, everything has gone up' . Yeah everything has…

Yeah everything has gone up for me too! Which is why I need more then minimum wage! I only settled because I could get some more refined experience and I'm running out of money. (also this bakery had two locations ๐Ÿ™‚ poor little small business)

Everyone is complaining abt working shortage but wont hire someone who has worked straight for 6 years between 2 workplaces. I need a new job because my family (and me) moved too far from my old job. I think an issue is I don't have enough decorating/baking experience but I know Id pick up on that stuff quick if someone gave me a goddamn chance. (I was only a clerk in my previous jobs so I only did beginner level things for both things, but decorators would have me draw on cakes sometimes since I am good at it. Just never got the official training)

after the loss of the one job that was willing to hire me im giving up and just going to try to get a higher demand job with higher pay. Im in an older community that needs a lot of care jobs hopefully at least they will hire me. Going to try part time and do decorating on the side to get some good examples to try to decorate professionally later.

Also shoutout to Starbucks for having the longest interview (over a half hour) full of bullshit questions for only offering 13 an hour for someone with 2 years barista experience ๐Ÿ™‚ “we will be raising it to 15 in a couple months” why not now??? I got an email saying I wasn't chosen probably because I said “oh,,, thats way too low,,” because I expected AT LEAST 15
