Antiwork

I took a temporary pay cut for the best job of my life, and I don’t regret it.

Ever since I was 16, I've worked in fast food. I quit my last job after a really bad mental breakdown and got hired at a bakery. I went from $12/hr to $11 for the first two months (and then it'll go back up to $12), but in return, I get to work less (I've spent my entire shift so far sitting down and reading a book and have gotten exactly ZERO shit for it, it's totally allowed. The only time I would get shit is the occasional moment I need to make a new batch of dough but once that's done I'm good), I get paid time off, paid sick leave, and health insurance. It's not the best it could be, but it is still undeniably an improvement.
