Fuck the grind culture. I didn't ask to work 52h a week and have no life outside of my job (that also gives me no fucking benefits whatsoever and doesn't even provide any free food for how much I work despite being food related) when I said I want to work full time. Why is it me they always pick for the longest ass shifts? To the point where I celebrate having to work 8 hours (not counting the closing lol, which is often another hour), because I'm more likely to work 11+, often multiple times in a row. I'm not proud of it or being hard-working or getting “good money” out of it (come on, it's minimum wage, it's not good money, it's just that I work like a donkey…), I'm mad because clearly I'm doing something right and they're exploiting it and I get 0 benefits. The only other person who worked more than me is my colleague who actually wants to grind and often would stay longer than he's required.
My team leader only worked 5 hours yesterday and when I saw him leave home at 2pm I felt like losing my shit, because seriously….? And then he got the audacity to roll his eyes when you ask him to do his damn bloody job and he has to actually be useful, cause he's always busy and working very hard to avoid working.
I'm so tired.
