I work in the health care system. I also go to school fulltime to become a pilot and get out of this broken system. I work PRN as an RT with multiple different hospitals. I quit this job back in February due to numerous issues but the final straw was canceling my shift for the 4th time in a row without any prior notice. I didn't find out until I had clocked in. I had this shift schedule back in January they changed it the 5th of feb had 10 days to notify me and didn't. It was also a night shift so I planned accordingly I made sure I didn't schedule any flights that day, and hired someone to take care of my dog that day and night. I even made sure I had enough sleep so I could go to class and still be there ready to work bright eyed and busy tailed because my patients deserve and need me at my best. They couldn't be bothered to txt or call me about the schedule changes. I quit on the spot left my badge on their desk and sent them a txt saying I could no longer work for a company that doesn't have the decent courtesy to txt/call people about schedule changes. Especially those of us who are fulltime students. the good side is one of my other hospitals works around my school schedule allows me to come in when I want to work has given me a raise and even given me a bonus check as an outstanding worker. There even considering giving all the PRN workers another raise to help with the cost of inflation just waiting for admin to finish the final approval. Fuck that place I'm glad I left gave me the chance to improve my pay.
