I want to experience the fruits of my labour within my lifetime and have it be the model for generations to come. I don’t want to keep fighting for something that “maybe” my children might see.

I see the old adage that society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they know they will never sit under. But I don't want that for just future societies. I want that for me too. I wanted to enjoy my life while I still have it, not slave away for someone else's dream. But at the same time I don't want it to just be me enjoying it, I want there to be meaningful change that will allow future generations to also enjoy the fruits of their labours. I want real systemic change. And I wanted it yesterday.
