I want to get a job but I don’t want to work long shifts

I feel stupid for this, but I'm in college and would like to get a job. I want to be able to make my own money, I want to feel useful outside of class, but most jobs near me require 8+ hour shifts. I just don't understand. I had a job previously at Kohls for a month and quit because I felt like, despite being part time and just starting, there was too much work put on me because we were understaffed and I was expected to be capable of everything at the get go despite being open about it being my first job. All this to say I could not stand going more than 4 hours in a shift without feeling physically nauseous and depressed. I guess that's normal, and my family says that's just life and I should suck it up. But I don't understand why it has…
