The job hunt is so annoying! However, I refuse to just accept any job because of low offers or terrible work environments. I want to thank this sub for empowering me to stand up for myself and not feel bad for declining offers.
I’ve been getting asked to interview for roles that sound great. But if the employers don’t post salary ranges, I ask about it. If they say something along the lines of “we don’t discuss pay” or “we can’to post it online”, I decline and don’t bother looking back. And if I get a range and it’s barely above minimum wage, I decline. I’m not going to move to a new city just for a low salary. I’m always open to negotiation, but the other side doesn’t like to budge.
Transparency is important!
