At the time I was going to school and was looking for an easy, chill, part time job that would be purely for making some side cash while I focused on school and studies. I told the recruiter as much; I was ONLY looking for a job if I could work later hours, like a closing shift or evening shift stocking stuff, and no more than like 20 hours a week to not take me away from school or my wife.
They promised me up and down so many times I’d have a late shift and it would be fine. They were looking for that time slot to be filled even!
Well obviously that stuck around for like, 2 seconds. At first they said it was just the training that had to be during the day as that’s when their trainers were in and I could use their computers for the program. That’s understandable. I go through training then my first shift was like 7 to closing or something and I was like cool.
Then my first actual week of scheduled work was then like 10-2, closing, 2-6, opening shift… just all over the place.
I worked the one evening shift and then told them I wouldn’t be coming in anymore since they lied to me and I was serious I could only work certain hours.
You’re worth more than some job. Your time on earth is valuable. You’re valuable. Find a job yes to sustain your living, but… don’t forget to keep living. Fuck this stupid shit that is trying to be pulled on everyone.
