I am currently working at a Domino’s, so it’s not like being a manager is even hard. I was told that my boss had seen “little improvement” and literally laughed at to my face when I had a conversation about a promotion. Fun fact; this conversation was supposed to happen 3 weeks ago when I got my arm out of a brace for a work related injury. It was also supposed to happen a week before that, but my boss told me I couldn’t qualify until I was out of the brace.
I’m certain I’m being punished for being grossly overqualified for this job; I’m pretty sure my boss thinks I’m liable to quit at any moment so doesn’t want to promote me.
Unfortunately due to my lack of experience I have had trouble finding any work in my specialized fields (graphic design, programming, manufacturing). I am largely self taught (except on manufacturing, that was my high school major. I also took programming on my AS, but most of my experience comes from personal projects), and most places don’t seem to take that seriously despite the fact that I can definitely do the job as well as or better than the average person with a formal education.
I am trying to save up money to start an online clothing business, but it’s literally impossible with roadblocks like this.
