I woke up this morning throwing up and barely being able to move so I didn’t think it would be the best idea to go into work since I work with food and drinks all day. I text my manager that’s currently working and she says everything is ok they’ll be fine. I also decide to text the owner since he’s the guy that hired me and basically does everything for all the locations and this is where it gets fun.
He basically said that even though i’m dying sick and can’t move I still have to come in and wait for someone to come in and cover for me even though my working manager says they were ok and told me to rest. So I say I can’t and he just texted me saying I don’t have to go in anymore.
Also, it’s weird because when he was hiring me he found out I was filipino and said he’d “give me a chance” because he’s hired filipinos in the past and he liked them. I was also a super good worker already covered other employees shifts and never complained. I wasn’t a bad worker. I just get sick one time and he doesn’t like it and texts me to stop coming even though my manager said everything was ok and not to worry about it. It just felt unprofessional and almost like he was out to get me. Anyways time to find another job.
