I was fired for my disability. Need some advice.
I'll keep this short.
I was fired due to not being able to finish my 11 hour shifts (leaving only about 1 hour to half hour early), despite having been accommodated for it for the past 1.5 years. I was abused and talked down to about my health as well. I spoke to a lawyer and gave more details who said I have a clear cut discrimination case despite being an independent contractor and she could send a demand letter on my behalf, but that there was no guarantees. However, I'm poor, and her retainer is 2500 and the fee for the letter is about 1500 plus other assorted fees.
Is there anything out there to help people like me who can't afford a lawyer? It'll pain me to let my ex employer get away with this.
