Hello reddit. I'm a 30 year old Warehouse Associate for the biggest Macadamia Nut company in Hawaii.
I got called into the office today for an investigation about an incident that happened back in March 2022.They put me on leave and was sent home, only to get a phone call few hours later that I'm fired from the company.I used my ID in a room (that I thought was an exit and an access to a staircase) and wasn't aware that it was highly restricted. My access was denied.What I found suspicious was that they only brought it up now, after learning of a union organizing campaign.
Im kind of worried about my other coworkers that I talked to about organizing a union cause I feel they might be next.
I gave my all to this company. Never missed a day of work. No called in sick and always showed up on Saturdays when needed. I was expecting them to give me at least a warning.
Im still shaken about everything. Im truly sorry about my english as its not my main language.
