So yeah, title says it all I guess.
In context, I am a games tester for a fairly big company. I won't go into detail because of NDA rights and stuff.
Someone created their character to look like Andrew Tate for a meme and posted it on teams. So I sarcastically told everyone in the thread to “Becareful everyone, this guy is a top G”.
Or so I thought it was sarcastically…
A senior / the person that trained me for the job, sat next to me. Put in the thread “*my name* keep your misogyntic opinions to yourself, you are in work”, for everyone to see and react?
It's not even my opinion that he is a top G? He calls himself that so I meme'd on it. And she literally threw me under the bus, and called me a misogynist publicly over a joke? I never said anything about women? So what if I did really think tate was a top G? That doesn't mean I hate women at all….
It pissed me off over the fact she is literally sat next to me in the office, and didn't say anything to my face, but only on a public thread.
I was so annoyed by it and worried I'd get sacked because the boss might think I'm too controversial for the company / office.
Oh, and for the guy who actually made the character to look like tate… no problem at all, he is fine and didn't get any shit for it.
Am I truly in the wrong for joining in a meme and being called a woman hater for it?
She is also the fiancé for the lead QA tester too, so she is really high in work status :/
