I hadn't gotten much sleep at all because I was taking care of a very sick relative that had just been in the hospital. An hour Into my shift 8 people from a single vehicle entered the establishment and were stealing things. I was told to shadow and follow them around the store. Neither to say was a very uncomfortable situation. Since I was a child I had a very severe stutter, I developed Additional speech impediments such as slur does flirt speech word solid inability to recall common words and more following Trauma and injuries to the head from various accidents. I've For the most part learned to focus and work around the issues but oftentimes especially when I'm under slept I have to really concentrate and focus to not slur my speech stutter misplace words/mix things up or have issues with projecting volume etc.
After the customers that were stealing eventually left the store. I was approached by my supervisor and told to clock out. I asked what the reason was and they told me to take it up with management. Management via text message told me it was a misunderstanding and they would talk to me about it before my shift the following day.
When I arrived at work the next day the the manager took me in the back. He told me that a customer had complained that my speech had slurred words and the manager said he had me sent home because that means I was incoherent. I let him know about my condition but I I've had Since I was a child. And about the other conditions with my speech that developed from various head injuries that is medically documented. He told me that is no excuse and that I need to.figure my sh*t out. I Ask Tim how I could have predicted my relative would end up in the hospital in the hospital and that I had no control over the sleep deprivation deprivation and that's just something that happens to me when I'm sleep deprived. And he said again that's not his problem and I need to correct it.
