So yesterday I and my friend both had interview with the same company. We both got asked same questions related to HR and such but we're not asked any technical questions as we had already qualified in the previous test.
They asked us about our passions, I told them about LGBTQIA Activism, and my friend told them about being a feminist. She got the job offer, I didn't.
And I know for a fact that being Queer was an issue because as soon as I said “I am Queer” the interviewer started typing something.
I'm happy for my friend but I am quite sad that I have to face such issues in the future as well. I told this story to another group, where they came after me saying that I should have not talked about activism because employers hear unions, and that I might not have gotten a job because she looked better than me and didn't have eyebags or covered them with makeup.
I'm not quite sure if it belongs here, but the company is a pharmaceutical billion dollar MNC which contributed significantly in the COVID vaccine creation and make a big deal about how they follow Diversity & Inclusion.
