I went to the interview for a whole different job.

I applied myself for a forklift job working in a warehouse which was 30 minute walk away from my home. Upon the meeting in a job fair (big room full of companies hiring multiple people) I met with the person who was the hiring manager and he told me about the company and the role I’ll be doing. He said that my pay would be £10.50 and hour, my hours was from 08:00am to 16:00 and that it will take 2 weeks just to train me up so I was used to how they work and that the building I’ll be working in was the one I applied for. I was happy with everything so I agreed to come the induction the next day in the place I applied for.

The day comes and it’s a 30 minute walk to the warehouse for the induction, which starts at 11am. I get there 20 minutes early and knock on the door to let the hiring manager know am here. He had me waiting until 11:35am even tho we agree on the time of the meeting happening at 11am (I’m already not liking the feel) upon waiting around, I look out of a window which looks down upon the working staff In the warehouse and it looks like a dead end job that consists of doing the same thing every day on the production line.

Some people come up from the warehouse and I try to engage in some conversations with them but I’m met with polish people who either don’t want to talk or so can’t understand much English.

The hiring manager sits me down and shows me the warehouse via security cameras and then moves onto my role again, but this time everything he tells me is different to what he sad. He tells me that my pay will be minimum wage (£8.91) my hours are 12 hour shift that will rotate, the place I’ll be working in will be in the next town and not the one I applied for, I’ll be waiting upto 3-4 months for a forklift role to open up for me so in the meantime I’ll be working on my feet. He then said “the person who will induct you today hasn’t had a break, so will you come back in a hour?) it takes me 30 minute just to walk there and 30 minutes back to go home!

I told him I’ll be leaving a review on indeed telling others to stay clear of this place since their isn’t an ounce of honesty in the building and you’ve wasted not 1 day but 2 days of my time by lying to me about the job I applied for.
