He then tells me that if anyone wants to bitch about ten bucks then I should tell them they're free to move out. He is giving himself about a 40k per year raise and didn't want to bother telling anyone about the increase. I told him he absolutely has to notify them even if it's just a penny because that's their money and we're not free to just take their money without consent. I said that it's a matter of principle and he wouldn't appreciate it if someone did that to him. And I don't want to deal with the fallout over the increase because some of the tenants are on a really tight budget. He's gotten to the point where he has no debt and he complains about having to count money. He was blue collar like me twenty years ago but that's long gone. It's been a painful process to watch. Now he's looking at retirement and I'm looking at a lifetime of labor elsewhere when he does call it quits. He started working on notifying everyone but didn't tell me that. I saw him doing the paperwork.
