Antiwork

I worked my last shift yesterday, but work doesn’t know.

I picked up a part time job that was supposed to be for fun. It’s a job at a craft store for all your “hobby” needs. I haven’t even been there two months and it’s been a headache. I was hired for a specific skilled department, although that’s not where they put me. Saying I was going to be “cross-trained”. After weeks of bugging them to put me where I was hired for, they changed my department title without telling me. I then get in trouble for not completing training for new department. I also got in trouble for having a water bottle on me because I don’t have a doctors note. For water. The boss tried to dress code me my second week, but I proved him wrong and used his own handbook against him. That gave management a bad taste apparently and they’ve been rude/short with me ever…

I also got in trouble for having a water bottle on me because I don’t have a doctors note. For water. The boss tried to dress code me my second week, but I proved him wrong and used his own handbook against him. That gave management a bad taste apparently and they’ve been rude/short with me ever since. It also led with that manager cutting my hours back. Then, we had a family member pass my third week there and we had to go for the funeral out of state. When I mentioned my travel dates, the manager literally told me that “Monday would be better for you to travel instead of Friday”. Yes, I’m sorry our family member didn’t die at a convenient scheduling time.

These were my highlights. I only worked yesterday so I can get the last few things I need with my discount. This was supposed to be a laid back, part time fun thing for me and I was quickly proved wrong. My next shift is scheduled for this Thursday. So r/antiwork, how am I quitting? Show up, do all that training they’re making me do, and then leave? Walk in just to drop off my apron and walk out? Not show up at all? Tell jerk boss that he’s a jerk and walk out?
