I’ve been in my job for 10 months. I work for the federal government (US). In those 10 months I’ve had my card declined for groceries 4 times and humiliatingly had to put items back. I’m constantly given more responsibilities without a hope of pay increase. If they just paid me a few thousand more per year, I would have more energy to spend on my job (which I enjoy outside of the pay) instead of using that energy to try to find something that pays adequately.
