I had a great job interview today. Im confident that i got it. They asked what i wanted to be paid and i got nervous. I told them lower than i would have liked. They were cool with that amount. Immediately. I feel like i knew what i deserved and so did they so they accepted quickly.
Before i actually get the job (im 90% certain its mine so im asking in the case that its 100% lol) theyve asked me to meet with the owner to finalize things. Is there a way i can bring up the possibility of raising it? Have i screwed up by proposing a low amount so soon? Would it be super awkward and weird to be like “jk on what i said. I want more.” Do you think it will change their opinion of whether i should have the job?
Im kind of awkward so id love any kind of advice you could give me. Im not totally opposed to working at the wage we initially discussed but i feel like i deserve more and was an idiot for not asking for more and haggling. I just really wanted the job and sold myself short. I honestly like what this job is and would hate to start at low pay only to end up needing to get a better paying job that id like less.
Sorry for rambling. Id love any advice you guys can give me!
