The system is so stacked against the common person. My former employer was making me work overtime but not paying me overtime. When I complained about it, they fired me. So I contact the Department of Labor to have them investigate it. I didn't think anything would come of it since I didn't have much evidence only a timeline, a few nasty emails, but no smoking gun.
Well, my dumbass boss who can't keep her mouth shut, straight up admitted to the investigators that she fired me for wanting to sue the company. I've posted about this story a few times on this sub. I haven't won my retaliation case yet. The company didn't want to mediate so I'm in the process of looking for a lawyer who's willing to take the case. They're surprisingly hard to find.
