If my job paid more, then I wouldn’t have to leave.

I’m leaving my retail job (Publix) because I can’t afford my city anymore and thus have to leave the area and move in with my parents for a bit, until I find a cheaper place and a better job. My last day is tomorrow and everyone said they were sad to see me go, even my assistant manager was like “you really need to leave?” I work customer service there and it just doesn’t pay the bills. I need to work a job that pays more and gives overtime, etc. Publix doesn’t do that! This is why when they say people are quitting, it’s reasons like this. Wages! Pay more, give overtime, etc. and people like me don’t have to leave. I didn’t realize anyone would care if I left but everyone was like hugging me and it felt good that my coworkers like me. It doesn’t matter if it’s retail. I do customer service. I’m not a cashier.

This economy is so bad and the money is trash. I looked at office jobs and they’re paying the same as my Publix does. The whole thing is ludicrous. People can’t afford things anymore!
