Do you know how much an EpiPen costs?
I have several allergies, some severe. Among other things, I can’t go outside for long periods of time, eat eggs, milk, or soy, drink instant coffee, or have a dog.
I had to get married at 23 against my parents’ objections, because they were retiring and my spouse’s parents couldn’t provide her insurance either. I used a post-Obamacare loophole and found out that as a household of two, we were $50/month under the wage threshold to get basically free healthcare.
We did love each other; we do. But, we didn’t want to die.
The nature of my work means I only sometimes have insurance. While my marriage is safe and okay overall, I know that I could never leave unless I either secure a different position, or die.
Has anti work ever discussed healthcare and how it affects personal decision making and work?
