I've had plans made with a friend for three and a half weeks. These plans involve a set time that I have to be there to get into the venue. I informed my manager of these plans three and a half weeks ago, 'sorry can't guarantee anything, we need four weeks notice,' mind you I am asking for one evening off, not even a full day. I check my schedule, and see I've been scheduled on a 'finish' shift, essentially meaning I have no set leaving time. It could be that I leave early, or really late. I'm not in a particularly great place at the moment. I'm living it at home while I job hunt and I feel really isolated from my friends, and that coupled with the constant struggle of being rejected from jobs and having essentially no social life because I don't know anyone here, is really starting to get to me. This night out means a lot to me. If I can't leave at the time I need to tomorrow, I will be quitting and going anyway. Seeing my friend and having a proper night out means more to me than a job that can't be bothered to accommodate a day off request with three and a half weeks notice.
