I had a salaried position and the manager made life hell. Was really trying to force far more hours than the salary specified. I complained about the extra hours and the work conditions. Manager said the magic words. “If you don't like it, leave.” I spent the rest of my shift refreshing my resume in plain sight and heard him laugh about it as he walked past.
The following Monday I showed up late and with a moving truck for my tool boxes. He had the surprised pikachu face and literally asked what was happening. I told him, “you're a master mechanic, it's pretty fucking obvious isn't it? I'm doing what you told me to do last Wednesday.”
I later found out that 5 other techs left soon after and he was fired as manager because they had to hire a whole new crew.
