I work somewhere that after my living expenses does not pay enough for me to afford health insurance through them or Healthcare.gov. I've seen co workers get in trouble because they didn't have a doctors note. I don't get sick often but when it happens you're not getting a note.

I'm not spending hundreds or thousands on a doctor's visit for no reason. Even if I had insurance I wouldn't go for nothing.

You can be sick enough not to work and not sick enough not to go to the hospital or doctor. If I tell you I'm not going to make it in that is the end of the information you need.

If I'm not making enough to afford insurance do you really think I would just take off for fun? No, obviously I'd only take off if necessary.

Your staffing problems are your problem not mine. Maybe if you paid more and weren't a toxic workplace you could find and keep people.
