Antiwork

If you won’t lower your standards for a relationship, don’t for a job.

The job I left after 2 weeks, Training was me literally getting pawned off to someone else and yelled at for making mistakes out of nervousness because I didn't take the information that was expected and instinctly tried to transfer it to the party the caller was requesting. The lack of paitence expecting someone to work as if they had 3 years of experience at the job in 3 weeks. I can hear the sheer disdain and disrespect the supervisor had for coworkers, as well her own boss. If that is happening you will not be respected either. I can hear yelling and arguments across the building (small business) and how this sup considers someone an “absolute moron”. Annoyance when needing a day off to handle medical appointments and the expectation of a month's notice. No communication on schedule and expected to know it. No communication on how you would…

The job I left after 2 weeks,

  1. Training was me literally getting pawned off to someone else and yelled at for making mistakes out of nervousness because I didn't take the information that was expected and instinctly tried to transfer it to the party the caller was requesting. The lack of paitence expecting someone to work as if they had 3 years of experience at the job in 3 weeks.

  2. I can hear the sheer disdain and disrespect the supervisor had for coworkers, as well her own boss. If that is happening you will not be respected either. I can hear yelling and arguments across the building (small business) and how this sup considers someone an “absolute moron”.

  3. Annoyance when needing a day off to handle medical appointments and the expectation of a month's notice.

  4. No communication on schedule and expected to know it.

  5. No communication on how you would get paid, asked for direct deposit info on day 1 and get told it takes 2 pay period to go into effect.

  6. Literally tossed the live check to your desk in annoyance.

Just because the job isn't a giant corporation but a small business or franchise doesn't mean the grass is cleaner. Do not give up your mental health for bad vibes, microaggressions, disrespect, rudeness, or unprofessional conduct for $15/16 an hour. The expectation was that I was completely new to dispatching but great at customer service and sales. However that doesn't mean I'm okay with feeling stupid or being put down because I would like to comprehend what I'm doing and not doing it as fast as the experinced peers. As soon as I decided I deserve better got a job offer for a sales position at a dealership across the freeway (gotta make sure they are aware it's internet sales however) and likely a job offer tomorrow at a canvassing job with a higher base rate + commission. Your mental/physical health is not negotiable.
