If you work in education you’ve heard this “joke” from the admin – “We know you’re all here because you love your community and learning, not the money. If you wanted that you would have been a banker!”

I cannot tell you how many times I've heard that over the course of my career as a “joke” from the administration in education. The “joke” spans from elementary school to college. Let me be absolutely clear – This joke is disgusting. You're writing off your employees and their worth (even after stipulating they must obtain a higher level of education) all while you make 6 figure salaries (most public school / colleges list their employee salaries as public knowledge). Want to see what the administration makes while making this joke? For an easy to use example just look at the NY website here with the salaries of all state employees listed: https://www.seethroughny.net/payrolls
