Antiwork

I’m 39 years old and just experienced my first ever paid vacation.

I worked as a freelancer for 12 years here before getting made full time in April and just spent a week off enjoying every single day. Went to an amusement park, a concert, took my girl away to a cottage for a couple days. And then showed up back to work today and logged in a whole week off into my time card and I’m back to it. Funny thing is 10 days ago when I had never been on a paid vacation I was blown away that it was happening. Now I can’t believe that I have to work 49 weeks a year to get 3 off. Don’t get me wrong. I’m grateful and happy I finally have it but DAMN that seems like a pretty awful balance.
