I will try and give as little detail as possible.
I work in an industry that produces solicitation mail. It used to pay decently before gas prices went up and what not. Around January they cut hours from 40 to 35, and now they are currently at 25, about to be cut again down to 20. There used to be three people in my role, 2 on days and just me on nights (even though there was the same amount of work on both shifts), then the other two quit so they asked me to cover both shifts, which I did for about two weeks, until they added another person. We are told this other person is on the same level as me and we run the department together as equals, except I find out they are salary and I'm not, and her official title is 'manager' while mine is still 'analyst.' This person then proceeds to tell me all the time that the job I trained them to do, I'm doing wrong, even though I do a better and more thorough job.
I get emails one day saying 'good work,' but then the VP will ask me why I'm not doing more or finding issues sooner. Other people have started taking credit for the things I do. I am disrespected by everyone in any level of authority everyday, and made to feel like an idiot, even though I can tell that I'm the most intelligent one there by miles. I'm exausted of being exploited and rewarded with unsustainable paychecks.
I have other things to do for money but it's all 1099 work, and I'm good at it but don't want to rely on one or two contractor jobs. I also don't know if I ever want to go back to 9/5 life.
I want to quit. Should I?
