I work phones and walk around all day for work. we have A LOT of meetings, mostly remote, because I'm out in the field all the time.
I'm 5-10 minutes late to EVERY meeting and spend that time goofing off on the phone or napping or pooping or whatever.
It's my life, it's my time, and management can waste our patience and daily capacity to make themselves feel necessary if they want. But i'll never take it seriously.
I used to be 1-5 minutes late to every meaning. My plan is to basically stop making meaningful contributions to work by the 2nd year (i'm 14 months in). I know some will say it's “lazy” or “taking advantage” but like a lot of jobs my company ask us to scam people in 100 different ways. It's hard work but it's not necessary work for society and not productive or fulfilling for me especially with managers constantly on my ass.
Besides. I'm African from the us and being un attentive at my job working for white people at less than a living wage…well…on going work stoppages and slow downs is a tradition since hundreds of years ago lol. No reason to stop now .
But especially the meetings? someday i'll be on mute, camera off, show up 30 minutes late, and they'll be happy about it =)
