I have not many choices as somehow after a higher degree, nobody wants to hire someone without experience and so I am stuck with a paid internship. I have done almost everything by myself, learned the company's ways on my own, did the statistics and theory as well. When I was doing things, nobody seemed to understand me, because they do not have experience with those methods, so they cannot say if I am doing the right thing. I also had to contest the original approach because it doesn't make sense. I had to find someone way up to affirm my assumptions, my stat work, etc, and still nobody really relates well to my work in my team.
Today I was having my talk with my boss and I mentioned that the results will need to be verified when I am gone as the results that I can deliver after this, might change after some months (shelf-life related). Then my boss proceeded with “you better train your colleague (20 yrs in company senior role) on this topic”. At this point, I am trying to keep myself from laughing. I am now in the position where they say I have not enough experience, they're asking that I become a consultant, while getting paid an intern's salary. In addition, I applied for an entry position within the company, told my boss, and boss tells me I don't have the qualifications, just before telling me to train my colleague.
