I had to work all day yesterday after spending Monday night at the ER with my wife. She started having abdominal pain and vomiting about 10pm Monday (Memorial Day) night. She finally decided she needed to go to the ER around 1. She was released at 8:30am Tuesday. I took her home and dropped her off and went to work 2 hours late. I should have been able to call in sick but our company had a policy of not paying holiday pay if you call in the day before or after the holiday. When I arrived at work yesterday I had been up for 26 hours. When I got off it was 36.
