I’m getting paid less than new hires.

I'm a student worker working at a place on campus, this is my second semester here. When I was hired, I was getting paid more than my coworkers at the time ($9.25 compared to $8.75). All but two of my original coworkers have quit, most due to pay reasons. Of the two that remain, only one is on my level; the other is my shift lead. Any of you have any advice on how I can bring this up? I hate confrontation but I'm sick of not getting paid as much as others, especially since this is an ongoing issue. They barely even pay me enough to give a shit about losing this job over the confrontation, but I don't have reliable transportation so my work options are limited.
