I’m going through hell because of the perception of a company president.

A few months ago I was let go due to the perception of one guy believing I was wasting company time. In reality my efficiency of work resulted in covering all my duties which resulted in “downtime”. I argued for unemployment and won and the state determined that the reason for the lay off was reduction of force. They are attempting to appeal this decision. Furthermore documents requested from them stated that I was fired for poor performance which is verifiably false. I suspect though cannot prove that this is what they are likely telling potential employers. This is the only company on my resume with the experience needed to further this career. Advice needed is how to I approach this with future potential employers. Am I likely to be ruled out of every potential job because of the opinion of this one guy? Since they attempted to appeal I…

Since they attempted to appeal I removed my association with the company on my resume as well as other social media only stating my experience at the time.
