My job, that I have been at for several years now, one that I really enjoy all my coworkers and customers, installed a new camera system, top of the line, with excellent audio quality. I'm not worried about the cameras at all, I do my job. But as far as the audio goes, I guess our HR person listens in on all of our conversations throughout the night shift. She does this when she is off and at home….
I feel like it is a major invasion of privacy. She has commented on conversations that have been had to other coworkers and customers. Now, I am getting to the point of wanting a private conversation, we have to go into the walk-in freezer or leave the building. And I guess she got upset when I have told numerous customers that I can't talk about certain things because they are listening to our conversations.
There is no one really above the HR except for the owners, and I know that they listen in from time to time as well. Is there any recourse to this? Are we entitled to a certain degree of privacy at the workplace?
