Sorry for formatting I'm in mobile.
So I work at McDonald's. It took over 2 weeks for them to start my orientation, in which they ALSO didn't even tell me I was supposed to work that day.
Then my trainer did what most modern parents do with their children, and sat me in the back room with an iPad with the McDonald's training videos playing.
This wasn't supposed to happen. I was supposed to work the floor apparently, and learn other things. So I got speed trained on how to make fries and icecream, and how to use the POS, which while it stands for 'Point Operation System' it should still be Piece of Shit since the organization is god awful.
Today, my 4th day (3rd day doing my actual job) and I had an 8 hour shift with one lunch break and two 10 minute breaks (it's supposed to be 15)
The managers get pissed when you need them for manager only things, like getting off break or taking 50' and 100's. Good luck knowing when you go on break, and even more luck eating the boredom.
I need to constantly clean the lobby, not because it needs it, but because otherwise I'd just be standing there… For hours.
So instead I pretend to be busy by scrubbing the bench until a customer gets to the counter, where I need to rush up there, apologize, and then take their order.
Starting at 11, ending at 19 (aka: 7 pm) so when do I start tomorrow? 6 am. Which mind you, they told me the WRONG time first of all, and second I have a seven and a half hour shift- why? So they don't have to give me 2 breaks.
Not to mention when making my schedule I told them CLEARLY that I needed my schedule to work around college. So I get to go to college exhausted from working shifts that are barely 11 hours apart.
Not to mention the smell of cleaning chemicals is burned into my hands.
